No need for alarm....

With the dash out, I now set to work removing the alarm. I was abit apprehensive prior to starting as I wasn't sure what to expect and the mess was wiring looked quite intimidating.

But after peeling away the layers of insulation tape, it was actually quite simple. So here it is - out.

Oh yeah, removed the pedals as well and test fit the new pedal box.

I really should start work on the engine though.

T minus 105 days - Doing work

Roll cage and the Dash's out.

Its a pain to need to need to take out the cage every time I need to take the dash out.
It was done like that because originally, I wanted the option of being able to convert the Integra back to a street car (Hey! Its actually still street registered, until August this year that is. Reckon I should just drive the thing to the Creek instead of trailering?).

Anyway, a bolt in cage isn't really a good option for a time attack car isn't it? Oh well, I'd have to live with it for now.

If anyone's reading this, please remind me that by June I need to 1) Renew my CAMS license,  2) register the car with CAMS.

Anyway, I ponder on tomorrow night activity...removing the alarm. I need to first find it amongst the bush of wiring.

I'm also tempted to remove the ignition barrel and put switches to switch on the ACC and IGN.  Not to forget, push button start... Just like a real race car...

Turbo thoughts

Have also been thinking about the Turbo option again..

A friend is selling his turbo setup for about $3000. Spoke to my tuner and its a good set-up, not the ideal setup he'd like for the car, but a good compromise all the same.

As it turns out, he had built this several years  (>5) ago.

I've assessed how much I can afford and its certainly not the $3K,  which has me now rethinking even the new manifold. Maybe I shouldn't over stretch myself financially and repair the existing one. I could potentially brace it up to prevent more cracks...

Hmmmm....The wallet ponders.......

Getting around to start working on the car again. More stripping...

1) Got the car on stands, wheels off
2) Took off the ABS and brake lines

Figuring if I should cut the ABS wiring off altogether but I'm not sure if it would have adversed effects on the electronics. I doubt it should, except maybe for an irritating ABS light on the dash.

Also, been thinking abit about the cooling. A half radiator obviously isn't enough and was looking on Ebay and there are outfits that can fabricate a radiator to my specified dimensions. Would cost about $500.

Bludging

Haven't really done much this week. Slowly recovering from a hurt chest and coughing.

I really have to get into gear this week.

At least most of the parts have arrived. I'm going to be soooo broke after Superlap.

Also, a new turbo option has come up, so going to have to consider that. Its not first prize for where I'd like the turbo but if the price is right, then it could be the permanent solution. We'll see.

Anyway, Something to remember the good old days....

I realised I don't really have alot of Eastern Creek footage, probably cause I haven't driven there alot. Anyway, forgive the corny accompanying captions...

Sold the recaros off the DC2R, looks like that car will never be a street car again (ah, but you know, never say never.).

Took but bit of bargaining but the deal was done at 2am and the guys came at that time and took it off my hand.

Looks like I'm going to have funds to replace that cracked turbo manifold of mine.

To be replaced, hopefully with this - Doesn't this turn you on?

I've emailed the guys that make them, hopefully they would be gamed to help out on the price.
