71 days to go

Radiator:
Contacted several fabricators here. Seems promising. Will have to make decision soon.

Engine:
Still haven't touched the engine. Getting late.

Transmission:
Transmission bits are now with Adrian to be assembled with his magic hands. LOL.

Pedal Box and Brakes:
I can't imagine how much additional fiddling is needed to get the pedal box ready but its almost done. Tomorrow I should be able to assemble the master cylinders and bolt the pedal box in.

Seen here, I've added a bracket to support the accelerator cable.

Also, been building brake lines. My fingers are aching from squeezing the ends on.

The idea here is to link the master pumps on the pedal box to the existing hard brake lines, rather than have braided lines all the way to the brakes. Hopefully I've done the lines correctly and they will hold up with little flex.

I really need to see if I can find a shop to help out on the tyre costs.

Prickly

whats almost slightly worse than a cut? Multiple tiny pricks from frayed ends of a braided hose.

Getting Hot

So apparently the ebay shop 1 that said they can custom a radiator now says they can't because "Factory worker said they do not make it,because dimension is not enough, sorry ,sabrina".

This I don't understand, its within the limits of their advertised size.Grrr. Isn't the the point of custom? To have a different size radiator?

And ebay shop 2 which also says they can custom but there's a 3 ~ 6 month wait. Seriously?

So now I'm in a pickle. Retain the half radiator and have an auxiliary radiator or find someone in Australia that can make one.

Having been ripped off locally making a swirl pot, I'm kinda weary of local fabricated stuff now.

Almost at May's end.

Done nothing much this week, so what else is now? *Sigh*

I did fiddle with the pedal box.

Welded on some stoppers for the accelerator cable and clutch pedal.
Also welded on a couple tabs to serve as braces for the brake master cylinder.

As you can see, the pedal box frame does look quite flimsy, hopefully the bracing will address any flex.

Less than 81 days to go

Didn't manage to get the transmission parts to Adrian, will try to do so next week.

Made quite good progress today. Remember the pretty messy engine bay? I attacked it with spray cans.

I was quite happy with the outcome. There was some overspray but meh...I'll just spray black the overspray.

Also starting to put the cage back in.

Here's a picture using a piece of wood to space the side.

The Cage is a Bolt in 6 point Bonds Cage. Looks pretty sturdy.

I guess I should really have a weld in cage but I did want to be able to turn this car back into a street machine.

Its actually easier putting in the cage for the second time. Actually, this time, I'm rather pleased with the installation. Everything went in quite easily and in the right place.

By the way,  that Turbo Manifold that you see is from Blueridge Motorsports.

Thanks Brandon!
